Understanding the challenge of securing the right speaker is something I know well. As the Vice President of Marketing for a software company, I was responsible for a large annual user conference and several smaller events.

Through those experiences I learned that speaker quality either makes or breaks an event. I’ve seen it all—amazing, mediocre, and downright amateur.

Similar to you, my team and I spent a great deal of effort to ensure we had the best speakers that appropriately fit event themes and objectives. My Background

I’ve been on stage for 20 years—first as a vocal performer and then as a speaker. I’ve keynoted events, delivered workshops, and have also been featured in hundreds of media outlets including the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and NPR.

I have spent the majority of my career as an award-winning marketing executive and entrepreneur, co-founding my first company at the age of 26. Most recently I was the Vice President of Marketing for Aptify, a leading provider of Association Management Software (AMS) solutions for some of the world’s largest professional and trade associations.

I now devote time to writing, consulting, teaching, and speaking. I’ve also written one book titled Your Brain Is A Blender: A Stirring Guide to Holding Audience Attention.

I have been married to my beautiful wife, Lisa, for fifteen years. We live in suburban Chicago and enjoy hiking, running, cycling, kayaking, and dining at our favorite local spots together.
